“You are born into an amazing machine with incredible abilities and no manual. Do you have any idea of what you are capable of?” (Don T. Bidoux)
It lives in your body, and something can wake it up. Some say a good laughter leaves a footprint in the soul: go inside and look for a laughter, one you remember or wish to. Nurture it and teach it to enjoy yourself in a curious and playful way. Smile when you remember your face. Look not for a reason to laugh, it is the opposite.
And as you do, some part of you will remember that our survival as a species is an act of collaboration. We are creatures of flock and can best herd laughter out loud in the company of somebody else. If we were meant to have more fun alone, everybody would be able to tickle themselves to tears of joy, not only the chosen few. As a matter of fact, very few can lick their elbows too, and only some try, at a later point.
Looking at a flood, even a small creek, can be calming, fascinating and enjoyable. There seems to be a certain humour in how it will smile it’s way past any obstacle placed in its way, as if saying that this, too, has a funny side. How little strength it displays, yet how powerful it can be. The laughter isn’t the water itself, it is how it moves and from where it bubbles. There is a trickle, a splash, a squirt and more.
“We had nothing, but we decided to laugh because it felt so much better” Placide Nkubito
